He became fascinated with the weather because a long, long, time ago in a farmer’s field far, far away, he noticed a change in the wind. Well, it was at that point he discovered he was downwind of the manure pile on the turkey farm where he was raised! After that, he overlooked the weather very carefully to save his sense of smell!
Rob commenced his occupation in radio before accepting a job in TV at Canada’s Weather Network on “Good Morning Toronto”. After that, he determined to pursue his dream of living and working in the U.S. and accepted a job at Wake Up Rochester in Rochester NY. Rob also spent some time testing to make it big as a comic actor and studied the art of improvisation at Toronto’s Second City Theatre with trainers like SCTV’s Joe Flaherty!
Rob holds an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and a two-time Emmy Award. He also has the National Weather Association Seal of Endorsement and the approval of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
