Miller commenced playing youth soccer with Malvern SC when he was four. Afterward, he played in a match between North Scarborough SC and Vaughan Azzurri. Between 2015 and 2018, Kamal played four seasons of collegiate soccer for Syracuse University. In a game against Binghamton on the 22nd of September 2015, he scored his first goal while still a college student.
In 2018, he was selected for the third team for the All-ACC and the third team for the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region. While at college, he played for League1 Ontario club Vaughan Azzurri, Reading United AC, and USL PDL sides K-W United FC.
On the 11th of January 2019, Kamal was chosen 27th overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft by Orlando City. He officially signed with the club on the 1st of March 2019. He made his professional debut appearance the following day, beginning in Orlando’s season opener, a 2–2 draw with New York City FC. As part of Orlando’s end-of-season roster decisions, it was made public that Miller had his contract option for the 2020 season exercised. He made his debut for Montreal on April 17 against Toronto FC.
After a strong start with Montreal, the club declared on the 12th of July a contract extension until 2023. In addition, Miller scored his first goal for his new club on the 3rd of November, scoring the second in a 2–0 win over the Houston Dynamo. As a result of Miller’s strong play for Montreal in the 2022 MLS season, in July 2022 the league declared him as one of the commissioner’s picks for the 2022 MLS All-Star Game.
On the 12th of April 2023, Kamal was traded by CF Montréal to Inter Miami CF with $1.3 million in General Allocation Money for winger Ariel Lassiter and Bryce Duke. He made his Miami debut on the 22nd of April against the Houston Dynamo. In October 2023, Miami made public that they had signed Miller to a contract extension through the 2026 season, with a club option for 2027. Further, ahead of the 2024 season, he was traded to the Portland Timbers.
