Previously, Damon worked at 19 News from December 2016 to December 2023 serving as a multi-media journalist. In 2019, he became the co-anchor of 19 News This Morning. Damon most recently was an anchor and reporter in Flint, Michigan. While there, his coverage of the Flint Water Crisis contributed to the station receiving a regional Edward R. Murrow award and a Michigan Emmy.
After graduating from college Damon began his journalism career in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. While there, his work won him two Associated Press awards for coverage of a deadly EF-3 tornado that hit the city of Mena and a report related to a “mystery shopping” scam.
