Before coming to the FOX6 News team, Bret was working for the CBS affiliate in Green Bay (WFRV). He was raised in Waukesha and interned in the Milwaukee TV market. While working at WFRV, Bret reported on some of the biggest stories in their state. In 2011, he was in Madison for everyday updates during the collective bargaining debate. Bret also reported on the Kaukauna tornadoes, and the Marinette High School shooting and was put on duty in Dallas as the Packers won Super Bowl XLV.
Previously Bret served as a Weekday Reporter and Weekend Anchor/Producer at WMBD in Peoria, Illinois. His reports were honored two times by the Illinois Broadcasters Association – once in 2007 in the category of Best Hard News story, and again in 2008 for his weekly franchise series, “Streets of Speed.” In 2011, he was honored by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for his effort in covering the Chestnut St. fire. Bret enjoys traveling and some of the areas he’s toured include Germany, Jamaica, Turkey, England, Finland, Estonia, and many others.
