Emanuel was raised by his mother, a former Jamaican model, after losing his father to AIDS. After marrying the second time, Emanuel’s mom was forced to open a salon despite knowing very little about haircuts and cosmetics. Growing up in the Bronx, Ceaser developed a strong interest in visual arts, which led him to pursue formal education in the field. After graduating from high school, Emanuel attended Katharine Gibbs College where he pursued a course in graphic arts. After having his first child, Emanuel went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in visual communication, along with a minor in graphic design, before starting work as a graphic designer and art director.

Although Ceaser openly expresses deep love for Cheyenne, he struggles with a strained relationship with her mother, as custody and co-parenting issues surfaced in the early seasons of the show.
Career Background
Ceaser began his career as a graphic designer and art director after studying visual communication at Katharine Gibbs College. In 2011, he opened his first tattoo shop in Harlem, which later became the foundation for the Black Ink Crew reality series. VH1’s ‘Black Ink Crew‘ captured behind the scenes his massively successful eponymous tattoo empire in Harlem, New York City. The show premiered in 2013 and followed the lives of tattoo artists working at his studio, turning Ceaser into a central figure in the franchise. Additionally, the salon is also known for its haircuts and has attracted numerous celebrities to date.
However, the VH1 cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel from Black Ink Crew New York after a video of Ceaser abusing his dog made its rounds on social media on June 22, 2022. In the video, Emanuel was seen kicking his dog, while hitting it with a folded chair. However, on June June 25, 2022, Ceaser revealed his side of the story while in an interview with TMZ. He said that he was breaking a fight between his dogs and one of the dogs eventually turned on him. He also revealed that he had no intention of abusing the dogs, but rather he was only trying to neutralise the situation. Occassionally, while on an interview with On tha Radar’s Kiotti Brown, Ceaser said that he thinks his ex-girlfriend, Suzette Samuel, was responsible for leaking the video terming it “as a setup.”
Despite his exit from VH1, Ceaser continues to operate several tattoo studios under the Black Ink brand and remains active in business ventures. One of his lates shop was opened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in October 2021. Additionally, he’s busy developing the Invasion tattoo tour, which features music artists, movie greats, and most powerful influencers. In addition, has been busy working on his mental health and focusing on his fitness journey.
